A confocal image of the stage-9 hntXE81 mosaic egg chamber. Follicle cells with hnt mutantion (marked by the absence of GFP, shown in green) had smaller nuclei (marked by DAPI staining in blue) and upregulated Ci-155 expression (shown in red) comparing to the adjacent wild-type cells, indicating that hnt mutation causes defects in the mtitotic cycle/endocycle switch and proper downregulation of Hh signaling respectively.
