Madzima , Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences at the University of Washington, Bothell, former postdoctoral scholar in the FSU Department of Biological Science; Dr. Stephen Frausto, law offices of Morrison and Foerster and New York University School of Law, former graduate student in the FSU department of Biological Science.

Wednesday, August 17, 12:00 pm, 1306 COM—BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES SEMINAR, "Defining the role of cardiac troponin C in disease," Dr. Jose R. Pinto, Department of Biomedical Science, Florida State University College of Medicine.

Wednesday, August 17, 6:00 pm, FSU Coastal and Marine Laboratory Auditorium—FSUCML WORKSHOP, "Exploring nature: evening at the edge of the sea with Dr. Heidi Geisz," Dr. Heidi Geisz, FSU Coastal and Marine Laboratory. A hands-on introduction to Gulf Coast ecology, with visit to the touch tanks and nature walk at the water's edge (bring your wading shoes) as well as lecture and discussion.
