Monday, March 1 – Monday, March 1, 8:00 am – 8:00 am, Virtual—SOUTHEASTERN TRANSLATIONAL CELL BIOLOGY SYMPOSIUM - REGISTRATION OPENS Registration opens early March for symposium held Thursday-Friday, April 8-9, 11:00am-5:00pm. This FREE, virtual event highlights the exciting work being done by grad students, although everyone is invited to participate and attend! This year features two panel discussions on increasing diversity and maintaining mental health. Abstract submissions open in early March (oral talk consideration – March 16th, posters – March 23rd). Wednesday, March 3 – Wednesday, March 3, 2:00 pm – 2:00 pm, Zoom—PIE WORKSHOP, "Giving and receiving feedback: improving student self-regulation and developing an honest classroom culture," Aaron Ridall, Graduate Student and Teaching Assistant, Department of Biological Science, Florida State University. Host: Program for Instructional Excellence (PIE), Florida State University. This Workshop will focus on how educators can use feedback to help students succeed across a variety of tasks, how and when we should incorporate feedback that we receive into our own teaching practices, and an introduction to methods for giving and receiving feedback—both face-to-face and digitally.
