Thursday, September 2 – Thursday, September 2, 5:00 pm – 5:00 pm, Zoom—NSF GRADUATE RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM WORKSHOP Evenings of Thursday September 2 and Friday September 3, 5-7pm each day via Zoom. Dr. Alan Lemmon (Scientific Computing), Dr. Emily Lemmon, Dr. Sophie McCoy and Dr. Emily duVal (Biological Science), offer a workshop for senior undergraduates, 1st and 2nd year graduate students in the sciences and engineering, on how to apply for the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, a prestigious award that provides three years of stipend (at least $34,000 per year) and a $12,000 cost-of-education allowance to successful applicants.
Workshop includes panel discussion with recent graduate student awardees, examples of successful and unsuccessful proposals and reviews, details of applying, strategies for writing a strong proposal, tips for making your proposal stand out, and many other topics.
