Sarah is an interdisciplinary scholar whose scientific research is directed toward sustainable management of ocean ecosystems and the ecosystem services, like fisheries, on which people rely. Her work includes a pathbreaking paper on quantifying the ecological consequences of marine protected areas and the development of an optimization model for analyzing the economic and environmental trade-offs in three different kinds of offshore aquaculture.
