Thursday, November 9 – Thursday, November 9, 4:00 pm – 4:00 pm, 1024 KIN—BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE COLLOQUIUM AND YERGER LECTURE, "My journey in epigenetics," Dr. Yi Zhang, Harvard Medical School and Boston Childrens Hospital, Boston, MA. Host: Dr. Fanxiu Zhu, Department of Biological Science, Florida State University. The Yerger lectureship(https://www.bio.fsu.edu/yerger_lectureship/index.php) was established in 1998 by Gwynn Collins Akin (B.S. Biological Science, FSU, 1961) to honor her former professor Dr. Ralph W. Yerger (Biological Science faculty 1950 - 1988). The Yerger Lecturer is a former student of FSU or FSCW who has achieved a high degree of career excellence. The Yerger lecturer will meet with interested students as well as present a public lecture that will include an assessment of FSU's role in their career preparation and an overview of the opportunities for current students after graduation. Dr. Zhang is particularly interested in meeting with "people who are working on aging, brain reward, or embryonic development. Contact host Fanxiu Zhu to arrange a meeting.
