Friday, March 8 – Friday, March 8, 4:00 pm – 4:00 pm, Pyschology Auditorium—14TH ANNUAL JAMES C. SMITH LECTURE, "The mesolimbic dopamine system: sugar, spice and everything nice?," Dr. Mitchell F. Roitman, University of Illinois at Chicago. Mitch has been a student of motivated behavior for over 30 years with a focus on taste, reward, ingestive behavior, and the neurotransmitter dopamine. He applies state-of-the-art techniques to manipulate and measure dopamine processes in the rodent brain and importantly links them to behavioral read-outs. He is recognized as a world-renowned leader in this research domain.
