LEED plaque LEED certificate In April, the King Life Sciences Building was certified by U.S. Green Building Council as meeting green building standards under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design ("LEED") green building rating system. A circular, green glass plaque mounted on the second floor wall near the chairman's office attests to the certification.

                                                                                               

Bog garden Bog garden In May, acting on a recommendation from Professor Thomas E. Miller, FSU buildings and grounds crew planted a small, triangular "bog garden" near the west entrance to the King Life Sciences Building. It harbors three species of pitcher plants, several of sundews, and other plants typical of the bogs of north Florida.
