1974 in the FSU Biological Science History project
Dr. A. Gib DeBusk hosted a departmental outing at his home on Lake Jackson that featuredvolleyball, horseshoes, swimming, king mackeral, and hush puppies.
The departmental intramural softball team, the Seminole Vesicles, was undefeated as of mid-May. The team included Mike Kurek, Ken Heck, Mark Latch, Art Guy, Mike Rush, and Jackie Matustik.
In October, the department's new scanning electron microscope arrived. EM service was interrupted for a week while the older microscope was taken out of service and the new one installed.
In November, BioNotes announced that secretary to the associate chairs Elizabeth Harris had been hospitalized for tests. Fortunately, the surgery for which she was scheduled was not necessary, and she was able to return to work within a couple of weeks.
