The rigorous weekly schedule at YSP allows for the students to witness first-hand a realistic college experience. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, the participants attend their math, computer, and science courses, while Tuesdays and Thursdays are reserved for their individual research projects and a science ethics class. The students should have the confidence to study diligently for their classes. A bike is strongly recommended for transportation across campus, while other students opt to walk to their classes. The friendly, yet challenging, atmosphere seen at YSP makes room for maturity in intellect as well as social skills. The college courses provided at the program are taught by highly-qualified professors and the IRPs are commanded by professors and their staff. Study groups aid in the YSP participants' quest to quench their thirst for intelligent endeavors and in most of the classes, the teachers recommend work in small groups. The homework and class participation in the courses as well as the skills viewed while working in the IRP summarize the recommendation and evaluation each student receives at the end of the six-week scholars program.
