Research interests

I am an ecologist broadly interested in how organisms respond to complex environments. Many flowering plants face a challenging biotic environment that requires them to avoid herbivores and attract pollinators. How plants deal with the joint influences of these two types of foragers can shape variation in plant traits.  My dissertation research at Florida State University used two field systems (Chamerion angustifolium at the Rocky Mountain Biological Lab and Eichhornia crassipes in north Florida) and mathematical modeling to address consequences of interactions among herbivores, pollinators, and plants. I am interested in continuing research on how plants respond to complex and changing environments.
