California State University, Chico

The Chico campus is a very aesthetically pleasing place to spend time, full of old architecture and artwork.

The campus also hosts a rose garden.

Cutting through campus is a stream that is lined with walking trails.

Hibiscus sp. found flowering just outside of one of the conference areas.

There are so many old buildings here, it seemed like I could feel times past.

Of course, this was a scientific meeting, complete with astounding presentations.

Below you can see the members of the Mast lab having a splendid time together.

(L to R, top to bottom) Eric Jones, Austin Mast, Ethan Milton, Nicholas Miles, Amanda Kubes, and Sarah Braun

Traveling to San Francisco

After the Chico conference, Nick Miles and I traveled to San Francisco down the coast.  The scenery was gorgeous.

Although, I think we both could have done with fewer winding roads.  This one being quite tame in comparison to the roads that followed.

Eventually the winding roads gave way to the Redwoods, lined by large streambeds, and the beautiful trees themselves.

Nick and I made it to the coast just in time for the sunset.  However this means that we go no pictures of the coast road.  Oh well, I guess that means that IÕll have to go back.
